For parents of gamers, streamers & "just one more video"-ers

Bedtime means bedtime. Even for the computer.

Nighttime Ninja shuts your kids' Windows PCs down at bedtime and keeps them off until morning. No arguments, no sneaking back on, and no getting out of bed to check.

Set up in about 5 minutes · Works on Windows 10 & 11 · Control it from any phone

Sound familiar?

The 10 PM screen-time standoff

"Five more minutes, I just have to finish this match."

Forty-five minutes later, still finishing that match.

"I was asleep, I promise."

The PC glow under the door at 1 AM says otherwise.

"Why is everyone so tired?"

Late nights mean grumpy mornings, rushed homework and slipping grades.

Nighttime Ninja enforces your bedtime rules for you, so you don't have to stay up guarding the computer.

How it works

Three steps. Five minutes. Done.

Create your parent account

Sign up at parents.nighttimeninja.com and tap Add a PC. You'll get an 8-character setup code.

Install it on your kid's PC

On their computer, go to kids.nighttimeninja.com, enter the code and paste the one-line install command it gives you. Approve the Windows prompt with your admin password.

Pick bedtimes

Choose a bedtime for each night, say 9:00 on school nights and 10:30 on weekends, plus a wake-up time. That's it.

A typical school night

Fair warning, then lights out

Kids get a friendly countdown so they can save their game or homework. When it hits zero, the PC shuts down. If someone tries turning it back on before morning, it shuts down again two minutes later, and you'll see it in your activity log.

Set your first bedtime
  1. A countdown appears on screen: "Bedtime is coming up, save your work."
  2. Your kid asks for more time. You tap +15 min on your phone. The countdown resets on the spot.
  3. The PC shuts down. No arguing with a robot.
  4. Someone sneaks back on. Two-minute warning, then it shuts down again, and it shows up in your activity log.
  5. Bedtime's over. The PC works normally again.
Features

Everything you need. Nothing you don't.

Bedtimes for every night

Different times for school nights and weekends, and a wake-up time for when the PC unlocks.

Fair-warning countdown

An on-screen timer before every shutdown, so homework and games get saved.

Stays off until morning

Turned back on during bedtime? It shuts down again within minutes, every time.

Kid-proof

Runs as a protected Windows service. Kids can't close it from Task Manager or delete it from a standard account.

Control from your phone

Give extra time, skip tonight, or shut down now, from anywhere, on any device.

Works offline

Bedtimes are saved on the PC itself. Unplugging the Wi-Fi changes nothing.

Activity log

See when each PC turned on, shut down, and any attempts to get around bedtime.

Every PC in one place

One parent account for every kid and every computer in the house.

An honest note

Kid-proof works best with Standard accounts

Windows lets an administrator account remove any software, including ours. Give your kids Standard Windows accounts and keep the admin password to yourself (Settings → Accounts → Other users → Change account type). Our installer tells you which accounts are admins, and if Nighttime Ninja is ever uninstalled, your dashboard shows it.

FAQ

Questions parents ask

What computers does it work on?

Windows 10 and Windows 11 PCs and laptops. You can manage it from any phone, tablet or computer with a web browser.

What if the internet goes down or my kid unplugs the Wi-Fi?

Nothing changes. Your bedtimes are saved on the PC itself, so it keeps shutting down on schedule without internet. When it reconnects, it picks up any changes you made and sends you the activity it missed.

Can my kid just close it?

No. Nighttime Ninja runs as a protected Windows system service, not an app in the taskbar. A standard Windows account can't end it in Task Manager or delete its files. Closing the countdown window doesn't stop the shutdown either.

Will they lose their work?

They get a countdown (10 minutes by default; you choose) before every bedtime shutdown, so there's time to save. Anything still unsaved when the timer hits zero is lost, which is a great motivator to save early.

Can I give extra time on a special night?

Yes. Tap +15, +30 or +60 minutes, or turn bedtime off for tonight, right from your phone. It takes effect within about 30 seconds.

What if the PC is off at bedtime?

Then there's nothing to do. If someone turns it on during bedtime, it shows a short warning and shuts down again. After your wake-up time it works normally.

How do I remove it?

Remove the PC from your parent dashboard and it uninstalls itself the next time it's online.
